Water Pump Replacement, March 2007

1. Remove air cleaner, fan belt, and thermostat cover.

2. Remove battery, vacuum reservoir, a/c compressor, and radiator.  Do not disconnect
the compressor.  Just move it aside so that radiator can be removed.

3.  Remove fan/clutch assembly.

4.  Remove old water pump.

5.  Install new water pump.  Note that the four studs for attaching the fan must be taken from the old pump.

6.  Crack was discovered in thermostat housing near temperatore sensor port.  This was the source of the leak all along.

7.  New thermostat housing was very difficult to find.  Only one place was found on internet with them in stock.

8.  Install new thermostat housing.

9.  Put everything back together.  Also replace PCV valve and spark plugs.

Buffy looks amnazed that engine actually runs, and no more coolant leak!
