This is how the trail starts out near the base of the mountain. 

After a short distance the trail becomes very rocky and uneven as this photo shows. 

Here is the view looking up from the start of the trail.  The peak is not visible but is behind the ridge on the right.

You have to be careful not to trip and fall onto the trail in areas like this.

This is a view from about half way up to the top of the first ridge.

Impressive volcanic rock formations are all over the place.

Look at these giant rock crystals.

Now the trail gets a bit steeper and more rugged as you can see here.  No place for bicycles, pets, or small children.
